“I never thought I would be at the Democratic National Convention, making portraits of these important people that will be shared nationally and globally at age 26,” says New York City-based photographer Anthony Geathers (@anthonybgeathers). “[I’m] thankful that I get to be a part of history.”
July 28 marks the culmination of the four-day Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, where Hillary Clinton (@hillaryclinton) became the party’s first female nominee for president of the United States. In a studio perched above the convention floor, Anthony photographed governors, senators and other notable figures. “It’s been a whirlwind of different people,” Anthony says, noting that the passion of the crowd helped fuel his photography. “You could barely hear yourself think! It’s so energetic inside the convention center — it gets me going to give it my all inside the studio.”
