La fotografia di un animale in via di estinzione come dell’orango, arrampicato sulla radice di un fico strangolatore nel parco nazionale Gunung Palung del Borneo indonesiano, scattata a trenta metri di altezza con GoPro dall’americano Tim Laman, ha appena vinto la 52ª edizione del Wildlife photographer of the year, per il valore tecnico ed etico attribuito dai giurati al punto di vista insolito di “Entwined lives” (vite intrecciate).

Lo stesso vale per Paul Hilton, vincitore del Wildlife Photojournalist Award, con la composizione scioccante dei 4.000 pangolini congelati destinati al commercio illegale, come per la ‘fresca osservazione del mondo naturale’ del Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year, reso con senso artistico dal sedicenne Gideon Knight con “The Moon and the crow” (La luna e il corvo).
